Rushmore is this week’s featured band
Formed in late 2002, the pop-punk outfit Rushmore from Mt. Holly, NJ has played well over a thousand shows up and down the east coast, including various trips out west. They have played in front of crowds crammed into small no-name venues to sharing the stage with the likes of All Time Low and Plain White’s T’s in front of thousands. Favorite accomplishments include MTVU’s 2007 Best Music on Campus winner, Runner up for MTV’s 2009 VMA for Best Unsigned Artist, as well as opening up for Metro Station and Cobra Starship at Parkview Field located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. In 2007-2008 their first single ” Wake Up Call” was played on various college radio stations from Jersey to the Mid-West, as well as Philadelphia’s own Radio 104.5 fm. After having sold hundreds upon hundreds of their EP’s: 2003’s Calamity, 2006’s Wake the Neighborhood, 2007’s I Bet You Wish You Were Somewhere Else, and 2008’s D-List Celebrities (available on iTunes), the boys return with their new self-titled EP 2010’s Rushmore. The new record has an anthematic feel to it that will surely light up the crowd with every new song played. From the opening track ‘Get Up For the Let Down’ to the very last chord, this new EP has proven to be anything but a let down.
