Sinewy and cold, Stripmall Architecture’s newest release, Suburban Reverb, is simultaneously an organic and technological experience. 9 tracks of breathy vocals and airy synths combine to both lift the music and keep it at a distance.
Lordi – To Beast or Not to Beast album review
GWAR’s Oderus Urungus once called Finland’s Lordi “a kiddie version of GWAR” and there is some truth to that. While the two bands’ giant alien-mutant costumes bear striking similarities to each other, GWAR’s approach to music and performance art has always been more “adult” (as anyone who’s ever been covered in at a GWAR show can attest) than Lordi’s.

With a fist in the air and a melody in their hearts, pop punk bangers Broadway Calls have returned with a new album, titled Comfort/Distraction. 11 tracks of anthemic pop punk, the album is full of songs of heartbreak and renewal, all catchy and ready to be sung along with at top volume, windows down and voice raised.

Resident Evil: Retribution film review
Let’s be honest: the 5th film in a franchise is not the best introduction for most people. And while the Resident Evil series continuity is a weird mess, there’s still enough references and call-backs built in that a newcomer to the film would likely be lost. But we’re going to try to ignore all that, and come at the film as if it were the first in a series. So, here goes: this is a terrible film.
