Max Collins, founding singer/bassist/songwriter for platinum selling alternative rock band Eve 6, has premiered a new song, “World On Fire,” from his upcoming album, Honey From the Ice Box, today at Billboard.com. Collins launched a PledgeMusic campaign in May to raise funds for his first solo album of his career, Honey From the Ice Box, which is expected out later this year.
Blue Hawaii, Arbutus Records and many of their Montreal counter-parts all began with the same breath in early 2010. To date they’ve released an 8 song EP: in May of that year, Blooming Summer (Arbutus Records 2010) was recorded following the pair’s travels in Central America. It frames a time of warmth and novelty, featuring dense female harmonies, tape saturated synths, guitars and drum machines. Eventually Ra– returned to her role in BRAIDS, touring constantly, while Ag–moved to Europe, treading deeper into dance music, electronics, and production.
Hearts pumping, voices raised, fists in the air: this is what The Welch Boys sound like. Coming out of Boston with a blue collar punk sound, their newest album Bring Back The Fight is a boxing match from start to finish, throwing punches and kicking down doors, all in the name of brotherhood and a good time.
Tweens are a trash pop trio hailing from Cincinnati Ohio, comprised of Bridget Battle (Vox/Gtr), Peyton Copes (Bass), and Jerri Queen (Drums/BG Vox). Since their formation in May 2012, they have gone from pumping out old doo wop songs and demos in their basement to touring with The Breeders and making a name for themselves in just a years time. Blown out with an exploding intensity and full of sugary sweet hooks, Tweens will be in the studio this summer to record their first album on Frenchkiss Records
Dense and experimental, The Octopus Project have put together an exuberant and celebratory set of frantic songs in their new album, Fever Forms. But first, some facts about the record, straight from the band themselves:
Fever Forms was recorded by the band in a museum carved out of a mountain and mixed in collaboration with the mighty Erik Wofford (Black Angels, M. Ward, Maserati).
