Pushmen – The Sun Will Rise Soon On The False And The Fair album review

pushHalfway between punk and metal, Pushmen’s newest album, The Sun Will Rise Soon On The False And The Fair, threads the needle and busts out with some awesome thrash, bowling over the listener with its power and speed. Punishing riffs and claustrophobic atmosphere combine to make a set of badass songs, showing both power and intelligence.

Yard Of Blondes – Murderology EP album review

image001Crisply produced with very tight songwriting and a solid concept, Yard Of Blondes’ new EP, Murderology, has a definite sound and feel to it. Unfortunately, sometimes that’s not enough to stand out.

Trying to book Jim Gaven as Jim Gaffigan

In this classic clip I call musician Jim Gaven and try to get him to do a stand up comedy set as comedian Jim Gaffigan. The call goes on for a little while he considers doing the set.  Bruce W helps out in the middle of the call as well.

This week’s featured band is Seek To Thrill

When the guys from SEEK TO THRILL aren’t supporting their favorite fellow local bands and asking what size your shoes are, they are busy playing their own shows and writing some of the catchiest pop punk that will have you asking ‘Why are these guys still local?’ With that being said, it should be noted that the eldest member of SEEK TO THRILL is just the ripe age of 21.

Forever Is Fleeting is the stabcast.com band of the week

Band Bio:
Greetings, we’re Forever is Fleeting! Basically, we’re 5 friends who play rock music together… but that sounds boring, so let’s spice it up a bit… We’re 5 GREAT friends, who are always together even when we’re not playing music. The music we play is equally influenced by the unique rock bands we admire who stand out from the pack, and the local bands in our scene that we see or play with at shows every Friday night. Just like those bands that stand out from the pack, we’d like to think that we do the same. Musically speaking, our sound ranges from punchy, upbeat power-pop songs, to dark straight-up rockers, to anthemic, fist-pumping sing-a-longs. Our main mission is to make music that will get stuck in your head, have you humming outloud, and maybe have some lyrics that can provide from therapeutic relief to make your day a bit better. Overall, our music reflects who we are as people: 5 unique individuals who don’t exactly conform to the “norms” that society reflects today, and that’s exactly how we like it. If you’re looking for some “kRaZY KrUNk ToOnZ”, br00tal breakdowns, songs about partying in bedrooms, or if you’re expecting us to wear tight neon clothes and v-necks, you are on the WRONG band page =D. We’ve come a long way and been through so much in the 2 years we’ve been a band, and we’re still learning and getting better as time goes on, so why not come along for the ride with us? It’s sure to be a good one. =)

Nobody Yet is the band of the week!

Band bio:
Nobody Yet is one of the hardest working touring acts out. From Philadelphia, PA, the band has captivated audiences throughout the east coast with their not only original mix of progressive pop punk, but their exciting and exhilarating live show. They don’t stand still because they can’t stand still. And if you see them, you won’t stand still either.
The only thing that has held this band back is the lack of members.
