Vicky Cryer’s ‘The Synthetic Love Of Emotional Engineering’ LP Out Now

VICKYCRYERALBUMCOVER.145658After his last world tour with Louis XIV in the Spring of 2009, frontman and producer Jason Hill converted an isolated 100 year old house in the Hollywood Hills into a recording studio named Ulysses. Brimming with instruments and vintage equipment such as tape machines, plate reverbs (and a fireplace), he quickly began writing songs. Late night recording parties ensued, friends started dropping in more frequently and a grand experiment was born. By the winter of 2012 the full album, The Synthetic Love of Emotional Engineering, was finished and a band name was dubbed VICKY CRYER and proved to be a star studded affair of friends featuring Dominic Howard (drums, Muse), Mark Stoermer (bass, The Killers), Nick Fyffe (bass, Jamiroquai), Dave Elitch (drums, Mars Volta), Jeff Kite (keyboards,Beat Club, Julian Casablancas), Alex Carapetisand even an appearance from New York Dolls iconDavid Johanssen.

GET INVOLVED! DEBUT NEW LIVE TRACK TODAY

photo-mainIt was recently announced that members from beloved bands ThursdayFrom Autumn To AshesGlassjaw and Judge, have come together to form a new band called Get Involved! with plans to record their debut EP with famed producer Ross Robinson (At The Drive In, Glassjaw, The Cure) in the coming months with the support of fans via Kickstarter.  Today, Get Involved! is offering supporters a glance inside the rehearsal space with a live work in progress track called “Serenity Now.”
Fans are invited to support Get Involved!’s Kickstarter Campaign (http://kck.st/YYjGQZ) and check out their live practice recording of “Serenity Now” atAltPress.com (http://bit.ly/13SfQkX) today!
Inspired by their shared influences of punk, hardcore, new wave and metal, Get Involved! came together to create an entirely new group, unlike any of their previous endeavors.  Brian Deneeve (From Autumn to Ashes), Todd Weinstock (Glassjaw), Tucker Rule (Thursday), Lars Weiss (Judge) and Derrick Karg each bring a unique style to the band, resulting in a sound that’s dark and heavy yet accessible and memorable.
In an effort to connect with fans directly and offer them a unique opportunity to be a part of the recording process, Get Involved! launched a Kickstarter Campaign to raise funds to record and self release the EP, which is slated for release later this year.  The band is offering several cool new incentives for fans backing the project including having the Weinstock and Weiss DJ your party, a writing session with members from the band, basement/garage party performance and a custom song written by the band and produced by Ross Robinson.  Other packages up for grabs include digital download of the new EP, limited edition 7” vinyl, signed swag, thank yous in liner notes, limited edition silkscreen posters, listening parties, music lessons and backstage meet and greets.
Support music, support art and Get Involved! Back Get Involved!’s Kickstarter Campaign now at  http://kck.st/Ypsu2Z.
