Show Review: Allison Weiss/Pentimento/Candy Hearts, 4/5/13 Philadelphia

Allison WeissPlaying at the Barbary, Allison Weiss, Pentimento, and Candy Hearts rolled through Philadelphia as part of the March Radness tour. Along with local acts Eyes Wide and Placeholder, the bands all put on fantastic performances, showcasing a bunch of young and up-and-coming artists with a bright future ahead of them.

Corporate Hearts plays outside of police HQ

A couple of weeks ago our friends, Corporate Hearts, played a few songs outside of the Philadelphia Police Department Headquarters (The Roundhouse) in support of those arrested at Occupy Philly on 10/23/11.  Check out the video of them performing their song “Manufactured Fear” from that night.

Thursdays of Steel: Stay Thirsty

Last week, on July 13th, I shared a birthday day with Julius Caesar, Harrison Ford, Benny Benassi and some actress named Git Gay. We took off from Happy Hour this week so I could spend Saturday celebrating with family and friends; and for the last few years my restaurant of choice has been Dave and Buster’s by a mall here in Philadelphia.

Tony Two-Step

Anthony Fiorelli (Born August 19th, 1986) Better known for his Stage name Tony Two-Step is an Alternative Hip-Hop artist from Philadelphia, PA. Tony started singing at a young age and eventually started writing lyrics and rhymes very much inspired by the likes of Outkast, Slick Rick, Canibus & Nas. With inspiration equally from Rock & Electronic Music Tony had found his own lane early on.

Sink Or Swim

In a time where music seems to be shifting with metal subsiding and new styles being formed, shows becoming few and far between, a band is beginning to emerge with catchy, powerful and fun music. Hailing from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Sink or Swim is ready to put out music that anyone and everyone can not only enjoy, but relate to. The band consists of six members coming from various musical backgrounds who are all inspired to create music with no strings attached and have fun while doing so. Still a very new band, Sink or Swim is ready to take over the music scene and involve friends, family and anyone else who wants to come along for the ride.
