Since I started Daytrotter in 2006, it’s always been my goal to do as much to promote and expose great music/bands to as many people as we possibly could – helping them sell records, get people out to shows and just generally surviving as artists. We have tens of thousands of people on the site daily and an email list that goes out to over 300,000 people every day. Now we’re going to give bands the opportunity to benefit financially – forever – when they tape a Daytrotter session.
A few weeks ago our very own Steel Tip started to talk about Charlie Sheen on The Stabcast…which turned into posting blogs about him here. Now everyone has jumped on the band wagon, and I thought I would do the same…but that wouldn’t be my style. I went a different direction…over the last week I decided to do a followup to my Herpes on eBay auction which went over fairly well. Here is the followup, and no…Charlie Sheen did not win it.
The Engine Atlantic
The Engine Atlantic formed at the tail end of 2010 between friends: dual singer/guitarists Zach Yingling and Jack McCarthy, drummer Joe Barbato, and bass player Mike McCabe. Hoping to bring a breath of fresh air to listeners, the Philadelphia based quartet combines an interesting blend of thought-provoking, introspective lyrics with catchy melodies and upbeat music. Drawing influence from both pop-punk and hardcore bands and adding their own unique elements and hooks, The Engine Atlantic hauled up in the studio and has been finishing up new material, which is to be released in the coming months. Humbly committed to the music they write, the band writes on their Facebook page that “We write what we feel. We hope that when you listen, you feel it too.” Check them out on Facebook.com/TheEngineAtlantic
