Magnet Premieres Victory’s ‘Bad Man’ Video!!!

1“Bad Man” is the second single from Victory’s debut LP ‘Victory Is Music’.  The video was directed byCameron Dutra (he directed Foxygen’s ‘San Francisco’ and Cayucas’ ‘High School Lover’) and it was shot on location at a used car dealership inLong Beach, California.  The dilapidated but functional oil rigs of Long Beach form the backdrop to the ramshackle cast of characters’ foray into selling cars.  The concept came immediately to Dutra upon his first listen of the song and features a true ‘Bad Man’ in the lead character as he will pull out all the stops to sell his collection of run-down cars.  The video showcases the newest members of Victory on drums and bass, rounding out the trio.  The debut LP is available now for digital download or limited-edition clear blue vinyl via Victory’s own Reserva Recordsat victoryismusic.com .

FIDLAR Announces Fall Headlining Tour, The Orwells To Support

1After a sold out spring tour with Wavves, FIDLAR is thrilled to announce their debut fall headlining tour, with stops at Austin City Limits and Bumbershoot Festivals.

Jon Pareles (New York Times)  commented on one of  the band’s SXSW performances, stating, “FIDLAR, from Los Angeles, worked a sly paradox. In songs about characters leading dissolute, drug-addled lives, the music is as cleanly executed as punk could be; unisons are perfectly tuned and timed, like one big shared instrument, pounding home riffs like a stainless-steel railroad spike.”

Ice Age: Continental Drift film review

Charmingly inoffensive and amusing, Sony Picture’s Ice Age: Continental Drift is entirely what you expect it to be. Though as the fourth film in a children’s franchise, not much else should be expected.

American Reunion Review

I have said in the past that I’m not much for giving reviews, but I did get to see an advance screening of American Reunion last night and feel that I can give my honest review in one sentence:  If you actually saw American Pie in the theater when it came out, you’ll like American Reunion.  It’s that simple.  the movie takes place 13 years after the first movie and focuses on what has happened to all of the characters since.  I’m glad they went this route rather than trying to pickup while they are still in college, or grad school…it’s really these guys getting back together after 13 years and realizing they have different lives now.  All notable characters from the first movie are back including Nadia, The Sherminator and even both MILF guys.  Most of the characters are jammed into the last 30 minutes of the movie, which has 90′s music playing in the back the entire time so new comers to this teen comedy franchise will not understand all of the references…they are better off just picking up one of the many straight to dvd releases where they don’t need to think as much.  I’m not saying this is a movie that you have to think about (although I did leave thinking about what the actual plot was) but I’m just saying there are many references from the first movie that are placed in this movie.  So again, if you saw the first, see this, otherwise don’t spend the money because you won’t get the full effect.

Now, with that out of the way I have to say I did notice some similarities between the 4 wide released American Pie movies.  They all have certain staples in them and I thought I would pick some out and rank them to see which movie is the best.

Spoilers below.

Anime Sucks Simple Because It Is Too Predictable

Anime refers to Japanese animated video.  If you have ever seen anime, you will realize that it sucks.  Anime sucks mainly because it is too predictable.  Anyone that has seen more than one anime will notice similarities.
