As many people know by now, Tom Delonge is 1/3 of the band Blink-182. A few years back he left the band to go on and form what he thought would be the best band of all time, Angels And Airwaves. Since that time Angels and Airwaves have gone on to make 4 full length albums, all of which seem to sound identical. The last album was just released a few days ago and after listening to it, I tend to agree with the people that say all their songs sound the same. I have complied some clips below and to me it sounds like Tom is just out of ideas and redoing the same things that he has already done. Take a listen below.
1. There is a song on the new album called Surrender. After listening to it I noticed that it sounds a lot like a song on their first album, The Adventure. Here are some clips to backup my theory.
Clip 1: The chorus to Surrender

Clip 3: Here is both chorus mixed back and forth a few times…

2. There is a song later in the album called Dry Your Eyes. I noticed what sounds like 2 borrowed items on this. First, I’ll start with the intro which sounds very close to Blink-182′s Violence.

Clip 3: Here are both on top of each other, I know the tempos are a little off, but I didn’t want to be accused of editing to make it fit

3. I mentioned that in this song, Dry Your Eyes, I noticed something else that may be borrowed…The chorus sounds very similar to a song from their second album, Everything’s Magic.

There you have it…you heard the clips, you can make up your own mind. Personally, i can’t wait to hear the next Angels and Airwaves album. I hear it’s going to sample Blink-182′s Neighborhoods in it’s entirety.
