Last month I made up specs and posted an auction for a Playstation 4. Keep in mind that there is no real news of this device and the specs are a bit extreme. Honestly, I didn’t think anyone would place a bid on a device that no one has heard of, but let’s take a look.

Now, some people were in fact smart and sicne they have not seen an item like this in the past, they sent in some questions…Let’s take a look at them:
| Question asked | Are ypu for real and if so how much would you be willing to sell it for? |
| The reply to it |
Yes, I am “for real.” I was a beta tester for this unit and the deal made with Sony was that I would be able to sell the consol as soon as they made the release of it public. So, as soon as I found the news of the console release on CNN I realized that I could sell the system. This worked out great or me since I am currently in need of money, so that I can continue to attend school. I am willing to sell this system to the highest bidder, no matter what the price.
Please let me know if you have any further questions. Thank you.
|
| Question asked | Does this console actually work? Will it perform all the specifications as listed under the pictures? Do you know any websites that I can visit to obtain more information on this console? |
| The reply to it | The console does actually work. All of the specs listed under the picture were acquired from a direct letter sent to me from Sony, as part of their beta test program. As I was testing the unit I noticed that the specs did hold true. As far as other websites to check I am not really sure. I know that I saw some news on the public release on this consol on CNN, you may want to check their site (http://www.cnn.com).
If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask. Thank you. |
| Question asked | Are the “comes with” items actually included in the package such as windows xp preinstalled, 15″ plasma moniter, color laser printer, or even 2 cup holders? Will it use the ps3 adapters and power plug or will it come with its own? Does it come with a controller to play games? Is it under sonys manufacturer warranty? also how long will it take to ship? |
| The reply to it | Everything will be included in the one package. The box itself measures 23″ x 21″ x 19″. All of the AC power cords are included and the unit comes with 1 controller. You are able to hook up any PlayStation 3 dual shock controller to it. In addition to everything else it also includes all of the a/v cables to get you up and running.
Unfortunately, since this was a beta test unit, it is not covered by a warranty of any type. Shipping will take about 7-10 days and will be via UPS ground. Thank you and please feel free to email any other questions that you may have. |
| Question asked | Hi,
I’m interested in buying your Playstation 4. How much would you be willing to “Buy it Now” for? |
| The reply to it | Thank you for your question about the auction. I would love to use the buy it now feature, but I think that that would be unfair to the current bidders and others that are interested in this auction. Sorry. |
| Question asked | Does it play All system games And does it come with a 15” Inch plasma tv and Speakers??? Do you Need a Playstation 3? Please send me a via Email Before i bid And WIN IT!!!! |
| The reply to it | The unit does play all system games, and it also comes with the 15″ plasma monitor. It even includes the speakers, as listed in the auction. You do not need a PlayStation 3 at all. This will do everything for you. Let me know if you have any other questions. |
| Question asked | If I win How will you be shipping the item I Perfer it being OVERNIGHT or 2 Day Air because those I know it will come fast!!!! Thanks |
| The reply to it |
The shipping price of $25, as listed in the auction, is for UPS ground shipping. If you are the winning bidder I would be more than happy to let you know what the additional price is for 2 day and over night shipping. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thank you!

| Question asked | Hi. I was wondering how I can be sure this is a real system. I’m mostly wondering about the system running at 6.5 Ghz. As far as I know, Intel is just now testing the 6.0Ghz processer, which hasn’t even been unveiled to the public as of yet. I’m somewhat skeptical as to how this system can possibly have 6.5 when 6 isn’t even stable. Also, I don’t see any reason for Sony to include cup holders.
I only ask because I’m in the market for a new system, and from what I’ve been told by some of my developer friends, a new Playstation console (aside from PSP), isn’t due out until 2013. Thanks for your time. |
| The reply to it | I am pretty sure that you can find more information on this console on the CNN website (http://www.cnn.com). As far as the specs go, I have copied them directly from the spec sheet that Sony sent me, for being a part of their beta test program. I am not sure as to the speed, since I do not follow the computer industry. Truthfully, I am not sure of what is currently developed. What I can tell you is that the system is real fast and very stable. I think that the cup holders are a promotional item for the release, I also agree that it is strange to include them. This new console will be available for public release in Japan in 2012 and in the US in 2013, I was able to get it early as part of a beta test program. I hope I have answered all of your questions. If you have any more please let me know. Thank you. |
Here are the final results of this auction:
Highest bid: $202.50
Total bids: 48
Total hits: 275
My conclusion:
There’s a sucker born every minute. Well, I think we found our fair share of them during this auction. Why would anyone bid on something that has specs that are obviously made up. Also, the release of this product is not even widely covered by the media yet. They were just bidding on a fake item that they knew nothing about. Do research next time.
